This is a notification call from American Leadership Academy. There are four messages in this call.
1. Beginning Monday, August 30th, the elementary school will no longer have microwaves available in the lunchroom for students to use. The microwaves cause safety issues and we don't want to put our elementary students at risk. Please remind your students to prepare for this change.
2. Beginning this Friday, September 3rd and continuing throughout the school year, we will have one early out Friday each month except in March. For more details about early out Fridays please visit our web site.
3. Beginning today, August 30th there will be a $10 charge for any student schedule changes, and it will also require a signature from a parent and the teachers involved.
4. The drill team is sponsoring a junior drill program for girls in 1st through 8th grade that will cost $30 and last throughout the school year. If you are interested you can get more details at the front office of your school.

This is a Fine Arts notification call from American Leadership Academy.
CATS is coming to ALA! The longest-running Broadway show of all time will slink into the ALA Auditorium this fall for a five-night run from November 3rd through the 8th. And to get ready for the performance, we are having dance tryouts tomorrow, Thursday, August 26th beginning at 3:30pm. Any student between grades 7 and 12 who feels they have catlike reflexes is eligible to tryout. If you are interested, meet in the ALA Aduitorium at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. We hope to see you there!

This is a SchoolFusion notification call from American Leadership Academy.
For new students who are attending ALA for the very first time they should now be able to log into SchoolFusion using their Student ID# as their username AND password. Once logged in, they will need to change their password to one that's more secure. To do so, click on the 'My Personal Settings' link on the left, then the 'Change Password' tab on the next page.
For returning students who already have a SchoolFusion account but have forgotten their password, they can go to the front office of the elementary, junior high or high school and have it reset. Mr. Moody in the Junior High and Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Kallas in the high school can also reset student passwords.
We appreciate your patience with this, and hope to have accounts for all students by next week.

This is a notification call from American Leadership Academy. There are two messages in this call.
The ALA football team will begin their 2010 season on the road at Manti this Friday. Students and parents interested in attending the game are encouraged to ride the Eagle Spirit Bus. The bus will leave ALA at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and will return to ALA immediately following the game. There is a $3 charge(per person) to ride the Eagle Spirit Bus. Please sign up with Mrs. Fulton at the junior high front desk. With limited seats available, don't delay.
This Saturday, August 21st there will be a free Constitution Class held in the ALA Auditorium. The class will be divided into two parts--one from 9am to noon and one from 1-4pm. If you have an interest in improving the quality of our government, please attend one or both classes. You may find out more information about the classes at constitutionclass.wordpress.com.

This is a notification call from American Leadership Academy.
Attention students who are beginning orchestra or band this year. Summerhays Music has agreed to host an instrument rental night this Monday, August 16th, from 6-7pm in the foyer of the ALA Junior High. Students deciding on an instrument may come and experience them for themselves. Summerhays representatives will be prepared to answer all questions regarding rental and purchase options, and parents may sign a rental agreement and bring home a quality instrument and book required for class.
Thank you for your child's participation in the band and orchestra programs. We look forward to an exciting new school year!

This is a sports notification call from American Leadership Academy. There are three messages in this call.
ALA will kickoff the 2010 Football season in just 8 days. The Eagles will travel to Manti on Friday, August 20th. Game time in Manti is scheduled for 7 p.m. Make plans now to travel just 70 miles south and help cheer the Eagles on to another victory.
ALA is excited to announce the hiring of former Mountain View basketball star Lora Mitchell as the Eagles' new girls basketball coach. Coach Mitchell was a member of three straight 4A state championship teams at Mountain View. She was a high school All-American and went on to play at George Washington where she helped lead her team to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, including back-to-back trips to the Sweet 16. After graduating with two degrees in just four years, Coach Mitchell went on to coach at Radford University and last year was an assistant coach at Southern Utah University.

This is a sports notification call from American Leadership Academy.
Sign-ups and weigh-in for first-through eighth-grade students interested in playing football for the UVFL will be held Wednesday from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. and again on Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.in the Elementary School gym. Registration forms are available at the Jr. High front desk, or can be filled out during the weigh-ins. ALA students who wish to participate will receive a $50 discount from the regular price of $150.

This is a notification call from American Leadership Academy.
Kindergarten testing will be done on Wednesday, August 18th from 9am to 2pm. Kindergarten classes will begin on Monday, August 23rd. AM classes go from 8:45 to 11:30, and PM classes go from 12:30 to 3:15. All-day kindergarten follows the regular 8:45 to 3:15 schedule. Kindergarten parents are invited to attend the Check-In Fair, which will take place on Thursday, August 12th and Friday, August 13th from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day in the Elementary School gym.

#1: We are pleased to announce the hiring of Maggie Chan-Roper as our new cross-country coach at American Leadership Academy. Coach Chan-Roper is a former Olympian, a six-time All-American, holds eight national records, and is a member of the BYU Athletics Hall of Fame. If your student is interested in participating in cross country and learning to compete from a world-class, Olympic caliber athlete, please contact Jeff Reynolds in the athletics department at 801-794-2226 or by email at jreynolds@americanleadership.net.
#2: The ALA Dance Company will be performing a fundraiser tomorrow, Saturday, July 31, from 1-2pm in the dance room of the high school. Tomorrow is National Dance Day, and the dance company will be teaching all those who attend the National Dance. Admission is $1, and all proceeds go to benefit the dance company. So plan to attend and learn the new dance that everyone's talking about!

Tomorrow, Friday July 30th Dr. Jim King will be available for Sports Physicals starting at 7:30 a.m. at the Stadium. The cost is $30 and all proceeds will be donated to Eagle Athletics. Parents you will need to fill out an Eligibility Form, which you may download from the ALA website, along with the Physical signature in order for the Doctor to provide you with a Physical. if you need a Physical, please RSVP to Coach Lewis 801-787-1832.

This is a notification call from American Leadership Academy with important dates for all parents of elementary school students.
On Thursday, August 12th and Friday August 13th we will have our annual Elementary Check-In Fair from 9:00am to 3:00pm in the elementary school. At this event you will be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities, purchase school uniforms, find out who your student's teacher is, receive invaluable information and more!
On Tuesday, August 17th from 2:00 to 4:00pm it is our "Meet the Teacher" event. Come meet your child's teacher and see where their room is. School begins the next day on Wednesday, August 18th. The school day will be from 8:45am to 3:15pm.
Finally, Back to School night will be on Thursday, September 2nd from 4:00 to 7:30pm.

- Join with the Football Team in Weightlifting and Conditioning every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings from 7-9 a.m.
- Join the Football Team in 7 on 7 practices every Tuesday and Thursday night from 7-9 p.m.
- The Football Team will be going to the NXT Level Football Camp on July 15th.
- Physicals will be available for all men and women athletes on July 30th for $30 and all proceeds will be donated to Eagle Football.
