ALA 7th-12th GRADE CLASS REGISTRATION
GRADES 7-12 REGISTRATION GUIDELINES FOR 2010/2011 SCHOOL YEAR
Hello to all incoming 2010/2011 7th – 12th grade students.
We are ready to begin our registration process for the 2010/2011 school year. For all the information you will need, please read this page in full. Information needing downloaded can be found by following links to:
• A complete course catalog.
• Registration forms by grade.
• The academic calendar for 2010/2011.
• An overview of the leadership plan for K-12 (more complete description by year will be available 3/17/09 on our website).
Following are instructions for incoming 7th grade students (those in 6th grade now), for incoming 8th-12th grade students, and for all incoming students receiving services through our Special Education Department. We ask that all students complete registration, even if you are undecided on your plans for returning to A.L.A. next year. This will help you to insure that you receive the classes you request.
1) Incoming 7th grade students: All incoming 7th graders and their parents need to
attend a registration and orientation meeting on Wednesday, March 17th, at 5:30 p.m.
This meeting will be held in the Junior High Auditorium.
At this meeting, parents and students will be able to have questions, comments,
or concerns addressed in relation to registration and the upcoming 2010/2011 school
year. In attendance from the school will be the Directors, the 6th grade teachers,
counselors, and representatives from the different secondary departments. These
individuals will be available to address completely any questions or concerns you may
have.
Your students will complete a registration form at this meeting.
Please take the time beforehand to view the complete course catalog and a 7th grade
registration sheet from the links provided.
Your students do not need to have a registration sheet completely filled out when you
arrive for the meeting. We are simply requesting that you familiarize yourselves with
this information so you are prepared with any questions when you get to the meeting.
We will then walk everyone through the registration form and will gather them before
you leave the meeting.
2) Incoming 8th – 12th grade students: All incoming 8th – 12th graders need to
download and print their appropriate grade registration forms. If a computer or
printer is not available to you, please go to one of the three schools front desks to
obtain a form. Students and their parents will then fill out these registration forms at
home (if you have any questions please contact one of our School Counselors).
Parents, please take the time to assist your student where needed and to make sure
you are in agreement with the classes your student is choosing. The completed
registration forms then need to be turned in to your students history teacher no later
than Friday, 3/19, at which time they will receive extra credit points from their
history teacher.
We will begin registering students in their history classes the week of 3/22 where they
will use their forms as we guide them through the registration on computers. If your
student does not currently have a history teacher, please have them turn their
registration form in to Mrs. Brunson at the high school front desk or Mrs. Fulton at
the junior high front desk.
3) All incoming students with services through Special Education: If your
student receives services through the Special Education Department, you should
have already been contacted by the department to arrange for registration assistance.
If you have not been contacted or have any questions in relation to the remainder of
registration process, please contact Mrs. Law at (801)794-2226 ext. 5950, or one of
the School Counselors.
Class Fees: Our class fees will be addressed and finalized on March 15th. They will be
posted with the rest of the information provided here shortly thereafter.
Thank you all for attending American Leadership Academy and for helping us to strive to be
the best school we can be.
