VOLUNTEER HOURS AVAILABLE OVER THE SUMMER
Many parents are often looking for ways to get their volunteer hours at American Leadership Academy. Students are often looking for Eagle Projects. We have some available work over the summer that provides you with the opportunity to provide some of those hours. We will update this list each Friday with the projects and needs for the following week. Anyone is welcome to come and help where they can. If you choose to bring children with you, please make sure that they are able to participate constructively with the service being provided.
Some of the work needing done will require some skill or talent, but much of it can be done by anyone who wants to help. Any time that you can offer will be appreciated. Please email Mr. Clements at bclements@americanleadership.net with questions or any specific information you have for him, including times you would be willing to come in and help. He will coordinate the work and projects.
For the week beginning 6/14/10, we need help with the following:
• Old carpet removal
• Cleaning of exposed floors
• Wall preparation and cleaning
• Counter and cabinet removal
• Removal of broken molding, ceiling tile, and other unneeded items
• Light carpentry (repairing railing, wood surrounding wall a/c units, etc.)
• General cleanup of portable rooms
• General cleanup around portables
• Some grounds maintenance around portables and bus area
• Repairing roof leaks on portable rooms
• Window cleaning
• Cleaning of rain gutters
• Painting
Projects to keep in mind for the near future where we could use help in volunteer labor or in cost of goods include:
• Application of wall and ceiling texture
• Painting (interior walls and ceilings, exterior railing and walkways)
• Carpet installation
• Installation of ceiling ventilation in Foods room
